Inhalation route is commonly used to treat respiratory diseases like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Inhalation has a number of advantages over alternative modes of administration in the treatment of various disorders. Inhalation treatment has been increasingly popular in recent decades. Inhalation is now the preferred delivery method for medications used to treat respiratory disorders such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In some cases, the inhalation route is also being studied for systemic medication administration. The primary purpose of inhalation therapy for local treatment is to minimize pulmonary symptoms, such as airway inflammation and constriction, by alleviating and/or preventing them.
