He received his doctoral degree from the University of Rome Sapienza, Italy, with a maximum vote0, successively being in the years Temporary professor of Applied Cosmetic Dermatology and Skin Pharmacology in the University of L'Aquila, Milan, Pavia and Rome, chairing numerous scientific seminars, and sessions as invited lecturer in universities and international meetings in Europe, Russia, Asia Pacific, North and South Americas, as a recognized expert of Cosmetic Dermatology. His current research interest is focused on the development of biomaterials based on the use of chitin nano-fibrils, bio-lignin and other biopolymers obtained from agricultural and industrial waste by a nanotechnological biomimetic approach. Founder of the Journal of Applied Cosmetology and Editor in Chief for many years, he was a component of the R&D Commission of Federchimica ( Italian Federation of Chemical Industries), and became an effective member of the Italian Academy of History of Health Care Art since the year 2000.
